GF82.61-P-0003-01TM Audio 50 APS Volume/Tone Settings
- with CODE (525) MB Audio 50 APS radio

General
The functionalities for the volume and tone settings as well as for the amplification of the audio signals run in the audio gateway control unit (N93/1) before the audio signals are output via the speaker system.

The audio amplifier is located in the audio gateway control unit. If the vehicle is equipped with code (810) Sound system, a digital sound processor enables additional stereo sound settings and an extended final amplification of the audio signals to be performed.

The volume and tone settings are displayed on the screen of the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56).

The volume and tone settings are made via the radio control panel and navigation unit and the multifunction steering wheel (MFL).

Volume setting
The volume can be set as follows.
^ Using the buttons + and - for setting specific functions and volume control (S111s1) of the MFL
^ Using the rotary switch of the radio control panel and navigation unit

The volume setting can be carried out separately for each audio source.
With the RESET function, the programmed settings for all sound parameters including volume can be selected and reset to the manufacturer default setting.

In the "Audio" menu, the difference between the volume of the audio signal and the voice output for navigation, voice control system (VCS) and traffic announcements can be adjusted. This enables the voice output to be easily heard even at high audio playback. The volume of the voice output can also be changed during a voice output.

Tone setting
The radio control panel and navigation unit allows manual tone settings to be made (bass, treble, balance, fader) for each audio source. Pressing the main button for the sound setting in the left panel area leads to the "Sound" menu, in which the desired settings can be made. They can be adjusted separately for each function (e.g. CD, radio reception, traffic announcements).
The following sound adjustments are possible:
^ Language
^ Ambient
^ Driver

If the tone emphasis is changed (balance, fader) the volume relationship between the individual speakers changes relative to each other. "Balance" and "Fader" settings can be performed by pressing the main function key for sound distribution in the left control panel.

Speed-dependent volume control (SDV) and Dynamic Range Optimization (DRO)
Speed-dependent volume control (SDV) and dynamic range optimization (DRO) are used to adapt the volume to the noise level in the vehicle interior. In the process the vehicle speed signal and signal input to the sound amplifier microphone (B25/6) are used as a relationship indicator.

Mute
If the user presses the "MUTE" function key, the audio source currently audible is muted.
