GF80.20-P-0005T Central Locking (CL), Function

The central locking (CL) actuates the function "Remote-controlled opening and closing" of the vehicle. These convenience features are constituents of the drive authorization system (DAS [FBS] 3).

The EIS [EZS] control module (N73) has a central function here. This performs the following functions:
^ Manages right/left-hand drive vehicle functions and corresponding assignment to front door control modules for driver and passenger door
^ Manages outer safety statuses and corresponding transmission of locking messages for doors, trunk lid and fuel filler flap according to global/selective preselection.
^ Enables and disables CL inner actuation and remote trunk lid release
^ Controls automatic locking door feature at speeds over 15 km/h.
^ Manages "Automatic locking" function
^ Controls relocking when a door or trunk lid is not opened within 40 s after "Open with CL"
^ Re-enables locking functions after emergency opening (crash).
^ Monitors actuation frequency of CL (play protection).
^ Controls relocking door closed/open and exceeding speed threshold again.
^ Transmits messages for external securing and external enabling.
^ Switches off remote control functions when the transmitter key (A8/1) is inserted

The operations apply analogously also for vehicles with code (889) Keyless go.

The central locking system can be operated in various manners:
^ With transmitter key (A8/1)
^ Operation with interior central locking switch and ATA function display (N72/1s6)
^ By opening a vehicle door from inside
^ Automatic locking
^ Relock
^ Emergency opening
