GF80.20-P-0006T Remote Trunk Release (RTR), Function

Component Identification:

Opening trunk lid with remote trunk lid release switch (S15/1)

Function prerequisites
The function of the left front door control module (N69/1) is enabled:
^ by triggering the emergency opening function
^ by unlocking the vehicle with the remote control key (A8/1),
^ by locking the vehicle by opening a door, if previously locked automatically or with the interior central locking switch
^ if after locking with the remote control key (A8/1) the remote control key (A8/1) is inserted into the EIS control module (N73).

In the cases mentioned, the left front door control module (N69/1) receives an appropriate message.

The function of the left front door control module (N69/1) is disabled if
^ the automatic locking function is triggered
^ the vehicle is locked with the remote control key (A8/1) or with the interior central locking switch

Operating procedure
Actuation of the trunk lid release switch (S15/1) is read in by the left front door control module (N69/1). If the function is enabled, the left front door control module (N69/1) sends the open trunk lid command via passenger compartment CAN bus to the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2). The rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) actuates the trunk lid CL motor (M14/7) provided the lock cylinder is not in the 90° position locking the motor.

Open trunk lid with remote control key (A8/1)
When the "Open trunk lid" button is pressed, the remote control key (A8/1) sends a radio and infrared signal to the relevant receivers in the vehicle. They relay the signal to the passenger compartment CAN bus via the corresponding control modules The Electronic ignition switch control module (N73) checks the access authorization. If the access authorization is valid, the EIS control module (N73) transmits the command to open the trunk lid to the SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) via the passenger compartment CAN bus The rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) actuates the trunk lid CL motor (M14/7) provided the lock cylinder is not in the 90° position locking the motor.

On vehicles with code (551a) anti-theft alarm (ATA) the ATA is partially deactivated

Trunk lid status indicator
The status of the trunk lid is indicated by an LED in the remote trunk lid release switch (S15/1). If the trunk lid is open, the contact of the lock pawl rotary tumbler switch (S88/4) is closed. The switch is read in by the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2).

The rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) transmits a message to the left front door control module (N69/1). The left door control module (N69/1) activates the LED in the remote trunk lid release switch (S15). If the switch and controls illumination (circuit 58d) is switched on, the LED with lower capacity is actuated.

Emergency opening of trunk lid (only (United States Of America), (Australia))
The trunk lid can be opened from the trunk by actuating the emergency opening trunk lid switch (e.g. person trapped The trunk lid emergency release switch is illuminated for approx. 60 min. after closing the trunk lid (green, flashing frequency 1 Hz).

Function prerequisites:
^ Vehicle standing still (v = 0 km/h)

Operating procedure
The trunk lid emergency release switch is read in by the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2).Where applicable, this initiates global unlocking with the CL and unlocks the trunk lid by actuating the trunk lid CL motor (M14/7)
