1 Remove top part of instrument panel
2 Remove stowage box

NOTE: Only remove as far as necessary until the screw (4) next to the air duct (5) is accessible.

3 Remove radio
4 Remove left cover below instrument panel
5 Remove air duct (2)
6 Remove selector lever release cable from EIS control module (N73)

DANGER:
- Risk of fire and explosion when machining magnesium components
- Keep away from source of ignition and naked flame.


7 Unscrew screws (3)

NOTE: The cross member below the instrument panel, into which the screws are screwed, consists of magnesium alloy.

CAUTION: Information on machining magnesium components

8 Unscrew bolts (4)
9 Separate left bottom section of instrument panel (1) from air duct (5)
10 Unhook hand brake release cable from release handle (6)
11 Take interior fuse box (F34) out of left bottom section of instrument panel (1)

NOTE: The electrical lines remain mounted on the interior fuse box (F34).

12 Separate electrical connectors at electronic ignition switch control module (N73), exterior lamp switch (S1) and in-car temperature sensor (B10/4)
13 Remove left bottom section of instrument panel (1)
14 Install in the reverse order
