GF82.20-P-0002T Interior Lights (IBL), Function

Included in the interior lights is the overhead control panel control unit (N70) with:
^ Front dome lamp (N70)
^ Left front reading lamp (N70e2)
^ Right front reading lamp (N70e3)
^ Light ring (N70e4), for Elegance/Avantgarde and Classic equipment with ATA

The rear interior lamp (E15/3) with:
^ Left reading lamp (E15/3e1)
^ Right reading lamp (E15/3e2)
^ Dome lamp (E15/3e3)
^ Light ring (E15/3e4), for Elegance/Avantgarde and Classic equipment with ATA

As well as the following lamps:
^ Left front door entrance/exit lamp (E17/3)
^ Right front door entrance/exit lamp (E17/4)
^ Left rear door entrance/exit lamp (E17/5)
^ Right rear door entrance/exit lamp (E17/6)
^ Left front door inside handle illumination (E17/11)
^ Right front door inside handle illumination (E17/12)
^ Left rear door inside handle illumination (E17/13)
^ Right rear door inside handle illumination (E17/14)
^ Left front vanity mirror illumination (E14/6)
^ Right front vanity mirror illumination (E14/7)
^ Glove compartment illumination with switch (E13/2)
^ Left load compartment lamp (E15/8, on model 211.2)

With the front dome lamp (N70e1) and rear interior lamp (E15/3) the following versions are available:
^ Front lamp "Classic version (without ATA)" with the front dome lamp (N70e1). This is integrated into the overhead control panel control unit (N70) and can be switched on and off manually via the dome lamp ON and OFF switch (N70s4).
^ Front lamp "Elegance/Avantgarde and Classic with ATA version" with additional light ring (N70e4); this is integrated into the overhead control panel control unit (N70) and comprises LEDs, their brightness being set as a function of the dimming of the instrument cluster (A1). It is switched on and off via terminal 58d.
^ Rear lamp "Classic version (without ATA)" with the dome lamp (E15/3e3); it is switched on and off via the rear dome lamp switch (N70s2) in the overhead control panel control unit (N70).
^ Rear lamp "Elegance/Avantgarde and Classic with ATA version" with additional light ring (E15/3e4); this is integrated into the rear interior lamp (E15/3) and comprises LEDs, with it being possible to adjust their brightness via the dome lamp dimmer button (+) (E15/3s4) and the dome lamp dimmer button (-) (E15/3s5).

In addition to the switch lighting, the following lights are also part of the switch and controls illumination:
^ Right front footwell lamp (E17/15)
^ Left front footwell lamp (E17/16)
^ Right rear footwell lamp (E17/17)
^ Left rear footwell lamp (E17/18)
^ Left rear ashtray illumination (E9/8)
^ Right rear ashtray illumination (E9/9)
^ Glove compartment illumination with switch (E13/2)
^ Illumination (R3e1) Left air outlet illumination (E10/2)
^ Right air outlet illumination (E10/3)
^ Rear air outlet illumination (E10/5)

The lamps listed here in the switch and controls illumination subassembly are all dependent on the state of terminal 58d.

The lights are operated by different control units. The overhead control panel control unit (N70) in this case performs the master function.

The brightness of the switch and controls illumination is dependent on the setting of the instrument illumination dimmer and reset button (A1r1) of the instrument cluster (A1).

In Model 211.6, depending on equipment and special body, the number and position of the interior lamps may vary.
