Function
The front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) receives the "rear fog lamps ON" message via the class B (interior) Controller Area Network Bus (CAN-B) and relays it to the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).

The left rear fog lamp and taillamp (E3e5) in the left taillamp (E3) and the right rear fog lamp and taillamp (E4e5) in the right taillamp (E4) are actuated via the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).

The yellow rear fog lamp indicator lamp (S1e2) in the light switch module (S1) indicates that the left rear fog lamp and taillamp (E3e5) and the right rear fog lamp and taillamp (E4e5) are switched on.

In vehicles with code (550) Trailer hitch, the CAN-B message "rear fog lamp ON" is sent by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) to the trailer recognition control unit (N28/1), which actuates the 13-pin trailer hitch socket (X58).
