Tapping Noise in the Area of the Fuel Tank
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of a tapping noise in the area of the fuel tank, perform the following work instruction to resolve:
Warning:
Risk of explosion caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel as well as risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel. Please take appropriate cautions.
1. Remove right rear wheel and its housing to reach the area of purge line.
2. Open purge line (Figure 1).
3. Insert restrictor in the purge line up to the red marking (Figures 2 and 3).
4. Reconnect purge line with a new clamp (Figure 4)
5. Install in reverse order.
