AR54.10-P-0005P Remove/Install Battery
Shown In Model 203.0:
DANGER:
- Risk of explosion from explosive gas Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte Risk of injury) through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries
- No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking
- Wear protective gloves, acid-resistant clothing and safety glasses Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers
1 Remove dust filter housing
2.1 Connect quiescent current retention unit
See "Commercially Available Tools" below.
3.1 Deactivate backup battery Replace emergency call system battery
4 Detach ground cable (1)
CAUTION: Installation: Connect positive lead (2) first Risk of short circuit
5 Remove positive terminal cover (3)
6 Disconnect positive lead (2)
7 Unscrew nuts (5)
8 Remove bracket (4)
9 Lift out battery (G1)
NOTE: If battery is defective: Dispose of battery
10 Install in the reverse order
11 Perform basic programming
NOTE: Only if no quiescent current retention unit has been used
12 Read diagnostic trouble code memory and erase
13 Check for proper function
