Component Identification:

Removal, only vehicles with automated manual transmission (ASG)
1 Remove cover (50a) of left hydraulic pump on transmission (vehicles with gasoline engine).
2 Remove cover (50b) of right connector on transmission.

3 Press the STEP button. "Inclination angle" "Measurement" is selected.

4 Press STEP button while main menu is displayed. "Measurement" is selected.

Component Identification:

The vehicle must be on its wheels for the measurement.

Start measurement of inclination angle at transmission end.

All four angles should be measured in succession without interruption.

An inclination angle that has already been measured can be measured a second time if required. To do this, with the Measurement menu displayed, press the STEP button repeatedly until the display indicates Ready to measure the relevant angle.

5 Clean contact surfaces (arrows) for sensor (020a) on transmission.
6 Position sensor (020a) centrally on the three contact surfaces on the transmission (arrows) and press on firmly.

The spiral cable (020b) of the sensor (020a) must point in the direction of travel for each measurement. Otherwise the measurement will be inaccurate.

The meter is ready to take a measurement. The value measured is shown on the display.

7 Press SAVE button. The values are saved.

Confirmation Screen:

A Confirmation message appears briefly.

The display then indicates Ready for next measurement for angle 2.

8 Remove sensor (020a) from transmission.

9 Remount the hydraulic pump cover on the left side of the transmission (vehicles with gasoline engine).
10 Remount the cover above the plug-in connection on the right side of the transmission.

When installing cover, insert lug at the top.
