GF40.15-P-0001-04GZ Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM), Messages Relevant to the Function

GF40.15-P-0001-04GZ Tire pressure monitor (TPM), messages relevant to the function

Messages relevant to function in the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1) inform the driver that the system function is permanently defective due to a fault.

Note: This type of warning can only be canceled if the relevant fault is no longer detected in a new ignition sequence and no other fault is present.

Message relevant to the function are divided into:
- System fault(s)
- System messages

System faults are stored in the TPM [RDK] control unit (N88) with a fault code and system messages with an event code.

Note: System messages describe a regular operating condition. In the event of complaint there is no reason to exchange system components.

The following messages relevant to the function can occur:

System fault(s)

- This message appears for:
- Faults in the CAN data bus;
- Failure of a system component;
- At least one wheel is fitted without a TPM wheel sensor;
- The instrument cluster does not receive any CAN messages from TPM [RDK] control unit (e.g. cable discontinuity or disconnected connector with circuit 15 "ON").

Note: A corresponding fault code is stored in the TPM [RDK] control unit.

System message

- This system message appears after manual reactivation.
- Note: The driver has selected reactivation via the operating menu in the instrument cluster.

Note: Activation is possible with circuit 15 "ON" or when the engine is running.

System message

This system message is activated for the following criteria:
- At least one new TPM wheel sensor has been fitted and is currently undergoing teach-in;
- An external interference transmitter is hindering data transfer;
- The temperature of at least one TPM wheel sensor is above 120°C;
- Overvoltage, undervoltage.

Note: The system message is displayed for a temporary fault in the tire pressure monitoring system. No repairs are necessary.

Information message

After the ignition is switched on, no current pressure values are available from the wheel electronics units, the pressure values are not displayed until the tire pressure monitoring (TPM) system has detected a clear assignment. Until the teach-in process is finished (total driving time approx. 10 min) only the information message opposite is displayed instead of the pressure values.

Note: This information message cannot be canceled with the reset button. Pressing the reset button starts the activation again.

Information message

The transmitter key (A8/1) is in the position circuit 15 "ON".
The current pressure values are only displayed with circuit 15 "ON" or when the engine is running.

Information message

Individual wheel electronics units are missing, the remaining wheels can still be monitored:
- Tire pressure monitoring system is only receiving signals from 1 to 3 wheel electronics units.

Possible causes are:
- The spare tire is installed without wheel electronics unit.
- Wheel electronics unit is defective.
- Battery of corresponding wheel sensor is empty.
- Overtemperature
