Location
The VICS antenna is located at the top center of the windshield.

Tasks
The VICS antenna receives the information of the Vehicle Information and Communication System (VICS), which is sent by the VICS beacons (transmission rods) installed along the road in the microwave range (2.5 GHz). The VICS antenna routes the signals received for the dynamic navigation straight to the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3). The latter decodes the signals and edits the information for the display.
