Supersedes:

Group: 80

SUBJECT:
Model 230.471/472/474/475/476/477/479, Up to VIN F140686

Battery Drain / Keyless Go Button or Trunk Release Button Sticking

If you encounter an issue where the battery completely discharges due to the Pneumatic Systems Equipment (PSE) pump not going to sleep and at least one of the following fault codes is present or stored, this may be due to the PSE pump staying awake due to a sticking remote trunk closing or keyless-go button on the trunk lid.

^ B1440-12 - Maximum operating time for switch S15 (Remote trunk release switch) has been exceeded

^ B1440-14 - Maximum operating time for switch S62/21 (Trunk lid Keyless Go push-button) has been exceeded

To resolve, replace the PSE pump (refer to WIS document AR80.20-P-2700R) with the part number listed below (or its successor) and replace the trunk push-buttons for keyless-go and/or remote trunk closing.

Note:
New PSE pump has optimized software pertaining to the time-out function for the trunk buttons.
