GF32.50-P-4231R ABC Comfort and Sport Switch, Component Description
GF32.50-P-4231R ABC comfort and sport switch, component description
- with CODE (487) Active body control (ABC)
- as of 1.3.06 up to model year 08
Component Identification:
Location
The ABC Sport switch is a component of the lower control panel control unit (N72)
Task
The driver can choose between two transmission modes, Sport and Comfort.
Function
The modes have different suspension characteristics. Comfort mode is set softer than Sport mode.
The suspension characteristics are selected using the ABC Sport switch, read by the lower control panel control unit and placed on Controller Area Network bus class B (interior) (CAN-B).
The EIS [EZS] control unit (N73), with gateway function, transmits this information to Controller Area Network bus class C (engine compartment) (CAN-C) and thus to the ABC control unit (N51/2).
The ABC control unit has to set the relevant bits in the communication matrix to actuate the LED.
The Comfort or Sport performance map selection is stored in the EEPROM of the ABC control unit. After engine start, the same performance map applies as before ignition "OFF".
When the ignition is switched on, an LED test is performed as long as the engine is not yet running. Button actuations in function mode are not evaluated as driver requests until the engine is running and are then stored in EEPROM.
The actual evaluation of the button position is performed by the lower control panel control unit.
