GF54.65-P-3000CW Driving, Function
- with CODE (220) Parktronic system (PTS)

Function requirements
^ Circuit 15 On
^ Parking brake not operated
^ Self-test performed

General function sequence when driving
The general function sequence consists of several subfunctions. These are:
^ Activate and deactivate
^ Monitoring range
^ Forward travel
^ Reverse travel
^ Actuation of instrument panel PARKTRONIC warning indicator (A44/4)
^ Actuation of rear PARKTRONIC warning indicator (A44/3)

Activate and deactivate function sequence
The PARKTRONIC button (N72/1s8) in the upper control panel control unit (N72/1) can be used to manually switch the PARKTRONIC on and off. When the PARKTRONIC is switched off the light emitting diode (LED) in the PARKTRONIC button lights up.
If the light sensor (B38/1) (without code (345) Rain sensor) or the rain/light sensor (B38/2) (with code (345) Rain sensor) signals "Night" the warning indicator are dimmed up.
When driving the PARKTRONIC switches between v = 40 km/h and v = 16 km/h into the standby mode, i.e. the PARKTRONIC control unit (N62), warning indicators and PARKTRONIC distance sensors (B8/1,, B8/3, B8/4, B8/5, B8/6, B8/7, B8/8, B8/9 and B8/10) are supplied with voltage, but theyB8/2 do not yet have any function.

Monitoring ranges (shown on model 204.0)
In forward travel the monitoring range (A) is in front of the vehicle, during reverse travel the monitoring range (A, B) is monitored in front and behind the vehicle. The monitoring range in front of the vehicle is maximum s = 100 cm (a), behind the vehicle maximum s = 120 cm (b). If the distances are less than s = 20 cm (C1, C2) PARKTRONIC does not receive any more defined values caused by the technology

The outer left front PARKTRONIC distance sensor and the outer right front PARKTRONIC distance sensor are used in particular for protecting corners in the vehicle front's swivel range.

Distance sensors are not installed for corner protection in the swivel range of the vehicle at the rear because these areas can be viewed using the outside mirrors.

Forward travel function sequence (Front monitoring active)
When the vehicle drops below the lower limit speed of v < 16 km/h, the PARKTRONIC changes to measurement mode. If obstructions are detected in front of the vehicle, the driver is alerted visually at first by the lighting of the corresponding LEDs in the warning indicator. When the range drops below a distance s < 30 cm, the warning is emitted initially as an intermittent tone and then as a continuous signal (see table below). If a vehicle speed of v = 18 km/h is exceeded PARKTRONIC returns to standby mode.

Reverse travel function sequence (Front and rear monitoring ranges active)
When the vehicle drops below the lower limit speed of v = 16 km/h, the PARKTRONIC changes to measurement mode. If obstructions are detected in front of or behind the vehicle, the driver is alerted visually at first by the corresponding LEDs lighting in the warning indicators. When the range drops below a distance s < 30 cm, the warning is emitted initially as an intermittent tone and then as a continuous signal (see table below).
If a vehicle speed of v = 18 km/h is exceeded PARKTRONIC returns to standby mode.

On vehicles with code (550) Trailer hitch the area to the rear of the vehicle is not monitored when a trailer used.
