- Transmission 722.9 in MODEL 204.0 up to Model Year 8

6 different functions can be selected via the selector lever and 3 different transmission modes can be selected at the automatic transmission mode button (S16/12).

Selector lever positions:
^ P Park lock and start position
^ R Reverse gear
^ N Neutral and start position (no power transmission, vehicle can move freely)
^ D Drive (all 7 forward gears are available)
^ + Touch: Upshift by one gear respectively The shift range is expanded simultaneously in transmission modes "C" and "S".
Press and hold: Direct change into gear range "D"
The shift range is displayed in the instrument cluster (A1). If the shift range is restricted, upshifts occur close to the engine cutoff speed.

^ - Touch: Shift down by one gear respectively
The shift range is limited simultaneously in transmission modes "C" and "S".
Press and hold: The transmission changes into a shift range, from which the vehicle can be delayed favorably.

Automatic transmission mode button
The following transmission modes can be selected:
^ Sport program (S)
- Start off in 1st gear for all driving situations
^ c Comfort program (C)
- Start off in 2nd gear except in 1st gear shift range The gear changes take place at lower engine speed.
When kick-down is actuated the upshifts and downshifts take place as in transmission mode "S".

- Direct selection by means of selector lever or steering wheel downshift button (S110/1), with code (428) Steering wheel shift buttons, and steering wheel upshift button (S111/1), with code (428) Steering wheel shift buttons
