The automatic transmission electric controller unit is screwed onto the valve housing of the valve housing assembly.

Design
The automatic transmission electric controller unit consists of a plastic supporting body on which the following electrical components are located:
^ Rpm sensors
^ Control solenoid valves
^ Shift solenoid valves
^ Torque converter lockup clutch control solenoid valve
^ Starter lockout contact
^ Transmission oil temperature sensor

Conductor tracks which are laid in the supporting body make the connection between the electrical components and a 13-pin plug socket.

The connection to the cable set on the vehicle side and to the electronic transmission control control unit (N1513) is made via this 13-pin plug.

Except for the solenoid valves all the electrical components are rigidly connected to the conductor tracks.

Component Identification:

Function
Signals from the electronic transmission control control unit are converted into hydraulic functions in the automatic transmission electric controller unit. The rpm sensors, the starter lockout contact and transmission oil temperature sensor supply input signals to the electronic transmission control control unit.

The solenoid valves are actuated by the electronic transmission control control unit and trigger the hydraulic functions.
