Continuous camshaft adjustment ( RIGHT ): Incorrect position of the exhaust camshaft (P0014)


Possible cause:

- Y49/7 (Right camshaft exhaust solenoid)
- Camshaft position 'Exhaust'

Test 1: Check component Y49/7 (Right camshaft exhaust solenoid).

Test 2: Check assignment of signals from Hall sensors 'Camshafts' and 'Crankshaft'.

1. Check component Y49/7 (Right camshaft exhaust solenoid).

Test prerequisite

- Engine at idle
- Vehicle stationary
- Coolant temperature > 80° C
- Time since engine start> 60 s
Status of relevant actual value:
- Temperature of coolant:Warning! Communication with ECU required.
Note

- After the actuation it may be necessary to erase the fault memory!

Test sequence

- Switch off ignition.
- Connect socket box (126-pin) to component N3/10 (ME-SFI [ME] control unit).
- Measure direct current with multimeter between sockets [F.4] 100 and [M.24] 24 of the 126-pole socket box tester.
- Switch on ignition.
Testing of maximum power consumption may be conducted for no longer than 5 s.Specified value

- Amperage[1.0...1.8] A
