ISSUE:
The keyless entry system may become inoperative. This occurs because external electronic interference produced by other electrical components adversely affects the module.

Install a new keyless entry module which is designed for greater resistance to external electrical interference. Refer to the following procedure for service details.

CAUTION:
ELECTRONIC MODULES ARE SENSITIVE TO STATIC ELECTRICAL CHARGES. IF EXPOSED TO THESE CHARGES, DAMAGE WILL RESULT. REFER TO MODULE SERVICING PRECAUTIONS IN THE 1993 VILLAGER SERVICE MANUAL, SECTION 18-01.

NOTE:
THE KEYLESS ENTRY MODULE IS LOCATED BEHIND THE CENTER CONSOLE, BELOW AND TO THE LEFT OF THE ABS CONTROL MODULE.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the center console inner kick panels. Refer to the 1993 Villager Service Manual, Section 01-12, for the removal procedure.

4. Remove the rear keyless entry module attaching nut.
