ISSUE:
A "ticking"/"clicking" noise may be heard from the engine compartment when the vehicle is under light acceleration. This may be caused by a loose fitting at the EGR tube connection to the exhaust manifold.
ACTION:
Install a new EGR tube with a redesigned fitting which increases thread engagement. This prevents loosening due to vibration. Refer to the following procedure for service details.
1. Remove the existing EGR tube.
2. Install a new EGR tube assembly (F3XY-9D477-B), Figure 1. Tighten fitting to 34-44 N-m (25-33 lb.ft.).
