Pinpoint Test G: DTC C1778 - Power Steering Failure

Normal Operation
The power steering control module receives voltage through circuits 838 (LG/VT) and 601 (LB/PK) and ground through circuit 57 (BK). The power steering control module then sends a signal to the power steering motor through circuits 3140 (BK) and 3141 (WH). The power steering control module sends varying amperage through these circuits dependent upon the desired output to the power steering motor.

CAUTION: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when taking measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.

NOTE: Repair DTC C2278 before proceeding with this Test.

Possible Causes
^ Circuit 57 (BK) open
^ Circuit 601 (LB/PK) open or shorted to ground
^ Circuit 838 (LG/VT) open or shorted to ground
^ Circuit 3140 (BK) open
^ Circuit 3141 (WH) open
^ Fuse(s)
^ Steering gear motor
^ Power steering control module
^ Steering gear
