Shift Linkage: Adjustments

Selector Lever Cable Adjustment

1. CAUTION:: The ignition must be in the OFF position to make sure that the ECVT and the engine are OFF.

With the ignition in the OFF position and in DRIVE, raise the vehicle on a hoist.





2. Remove the LH splash shield.





3. Remove the transaxle control splash shield.





4. Loosen the selector lever cable adjustment screw.





5. Loosen the selector lever cable bracket nuts so that the selector lever is free to move.





6. Position the selector lever between the 2 ribs on the transaxle case.
7. Lower the vehicle to access the selector lever.
8. Place the transmission selector lever in the D position.
9. Tighten the selector lever cable adjustment screw to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).
10. Tighten the selector lever cable bracket nuts.
^ Tighten to 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.).
11. To verify the correct adjustment, observe the selector lever on the transaxle, while an assistant shifts the transmission selector lever to each range position ending in the D position.





12. Install the transaxle control splash shield.
^ Tighten to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).





13. Install the LH splash shield.
