Pinpoint Test K: The Power Rear Window is Inoperative

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 100, Power Windows for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number

Normal Operation

Under normal operation, the power rear window motor receives voltage at all times through circuit SBB10 (YE/RD). When the accessory delay relay is active, voltage is sent to the power rear window motor microprocessor and rear window control switch (part of the overhead console switch assembly) through circuit CBP05 (YE). The power rear window motor is grounded through circuit GD148 (BK/YE). The power rear window motor receives a voltage input signal from the rear window control switch through circuit CPW58 (YE/OG) to operate the rear window downward; and through CPW59 (VT/BN) to operate the rear window upward. Ground is provided to the rear window control switch through circuit GD133 (BK).

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Fuse(s)
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Power rear window control switch
- Power rear window motor
- Rear window regulator

PINPOINT TEST K: THE POWER REAR WINDOW IS INOPERATIVE

NOTE: The initialization procedure must be carried out when repairs are carried out on any part of the power rear window system including when the power rear window motor is removed from the window regulator drum housing, a new power rear motor is installed, a new power rear window regulator is installed, a new power rear window glass module is installed and any operation in which grease or lubricants are applied to the power rear window system.
