Fig. 9 Windshield wiper transmission removal:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove wiper arm and blade assemblies from windshield wiper pivot arms.
3. Remove leaf screens from both sides of cowl.
4. Remove linkage drive arm-to-motor crank arm retaining clip, then separate linkage drive arm from motor crank arm, Fig. 9.
5. Remove pivot arm-to-cowl attaching screws, then withdraw windshield wiper transmission from cowl chamber.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Torque pivot arm attaching screws to 60---84 inch lbs.
