Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair

1. Remove the air intake plenum.
2. Disconnect the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor assembly from the air cleaner cover.

Mass Air Flow Sensor:

3. Remove the four sensor retaining screws.
4. Remove the MAF sensor from the air cleaner cover.

Mass Air Flow Sensor Replacement:

5. Inspect the MAF sensor to air cleaner cover gasket for signs of damage and replace as necessary. Use caution not to damage the mating surfaces when cleaning old gasket material.
6. Position the MAF sensor against the air cleaner cover.
7. Install the retaining screws and torque to 72-108 lbs. in. (8-12 N-m).
8. Connect the MAF sensor electrical connector.
9. Install the intake air plenum.
