Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

1. Partially drain the cooling system.
2. Remove the air intake plenum.
3. Disconnect the sensor electrical connector, then remove the sensor from the heater hose inlet pipe.
NOTE: It may be necessary to brace the heater hose inlet pipe during removal and installation.
4. Coat the threads of the new sensor with Teflon sealant (Ford part #D8AZ-19554-A, or equivalent) prior to installation.
5. Install the sensor in the heater hose inlet pipe, then connect the electrical connector.
6. Install the intake air plenum and refill the cooling system.
