Ignition Coil: Service and Repair

REMOVAL:

1. Turn the ignition key to OFF.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the coil pack and capacitor assembly.
3. Remove the spark plug wires by squeezing the locking tabs to release the coil boot retainers. (SEE SPARK PLUG WIRES)
4. Remove the four coil pack attaching bolts and the capacitor assembly. Save the capacitor for installation with the new coil pack. Remove the coil pack.


INSTALLATION:

1. Position the coil pack and the capacitor on the coil mounting bracket.
2. Install the four coil pack attaching bolts and tighten the bolts to specified torque. (SEE SPECIFICATIONS/MECHANICAL)
3. Install the spark plug wires on the coil pack. Ensure that the boot retainers are firmly seated and latched on the coil pack. (SEE SPARK PLUG WIRES)
4. Install the coil pack and the capacitor electrical connectors.
