Vehicle Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

1. Disable airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Remove speed sensor mounting clip retaining bolt.
4. Remove speed sensor and driven gear from transmission.
5. Disconnect electrical connector from speed sensor.
6. Remove driven gear retainer, then the driven gear.
7. Reverse procedure to install. Ensure that internal O-ring is seated in sensor housing.
