Cruise Control Servo Cable: Adjustments

Chain Type

1. On all models except Mustang, with the engine off, set throttle linkage so throttle is closed.
2. Remove locking pin.
3. Pull bead chain through adjuster.
4. Install locking pin into the hole which keeps the chain taught, but does not open throttle.
5. On Mustang, remove speed control actuator cable retaining clip.
6. Push actuator cable through adjuster until slight tension is felt.
7. Insert cable retaining clip and snap into place.

Cable Type

1. Remove the cable adjusting clip from the cable housing.
2. Pull lightly on the cable until all of the slack is taken out.
3. Maintain light pressure on cable, then install the cable adjusting clip and snap into place.
