To prevent the replacement of good components, be aware that the following non-EEC areas may be at fault.

- Thermactor System

Belt
Pump
Valve
Vacuum Reservoir

- Base Engine

Blocked Thermactor Air Passages


This Pinpoint Test is intended to diagnose only the following:


- AM1 and AM2 Solenoid Valve Assemblies

- Harness circuits: AM1/AM2 and VPWR

- Vacuum Supply

- Processor Assembly


DESCRIPTION


The EEC processor uses the Air Management (AM1/AM2) solenoids to control the Thermactor Bypass/Diverter (TAB/TAD) valves or combination Thermactor valve that directs secondary air to either the engine or exhaust manifold and catalytic converter.
