Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

REMOVAL

Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor:





NOTE: It may be necessary to brace the heater hose inlet pipe with a free hand during removal and installation.

1. Partially drain the cooling system.
2. Remove the air intake duct.
3. Disconnect the sensor electrical connector.
4. Using a box or open-end wrench, remove the sensor from the heater hose inlet pipe.


INSTALLATION

1. Apply teflon tape to the threads of the new sensor prior to installation.
2. Install the sensor in the heater hose inlet pipe.
3. Connect the sensor electrical connector.
4. Install the air inlet duct.
5. Refill the cooling system.
