Cruise Control Switch: Description and Operation

OPERATION
Voltage is applied at all times to the Horn Relay, the Slip Ring Assembly, and the Speed Control Switch Assembly from Fuse 18 in the I/P Fuse Panel.

When the Speed Control Switch Assembly is in "RESUME/ACCEL", voltage is applied to pin Q of the Speed Control Module. The Speed Control Module Operates the Speed Control Actuator to increase the vehicle's speed or return the vehicle to the preset vehicle speed depending upon when the Speed Control Switch Assembly was put into this position and how long it was there.

When the Speed Control Switch Assembly is in "SET/COAST", voltage is applied to the Slip Ring Assembly and pin S of C247 of the Speed Control Module. The Speed Control Module reduces the vehicle's speed or sets a new vehicle speed, depending upon when the Speed Control Switch Assembly was put into this position and how long it was there.

When the Speed Control Switch Assembly is in "CANCEL", voltage is applied to the Slip Ring Assembly, and pins Q and S of C247 of the Speed Control Module. The Speed Control Module disengages the system.
