Starter Motor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove air intake system.
3. Slide solenoid B terminal protective boot rearward and remove battery cable to B terminal attaching nut.
4. Remove brush cable to M terminal attaching nut.
5. Disconnect S terminal connector from ignition wire.
6. Remove starter motor attaching bolts, then remove.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque B and M terminal nut to 71-79 inch lbs.
b. Torque starter motor attaching bolts to 17-19 ft. lbs.
