Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair

Air Intake System:






REMOVAL

1. Loosen engine air cleaner tube clamp at engine air cleaner and engine air outlet tube.

2. Remove engine air cleaner-to-battery tray retaining bolt at the end of the air cleaner body.

3. Disconnect engine air cleaner intake tube and duct by pushing in top and bottom tube surfaces at engine air cleaner and pulling engine air cleaner intake tube and duct outward. Lift engine air cleaner up and out of engine compartment.

INSTALLATION

1. Position engine air cleaner on battery tray and slide engine air cleaner locator button into vertical grommet at side of battery tray.

2. Insert engine air cleaner intake tube and duct into opening at side of air cleaner body until engine air cleaner intake tube and duct snaps into place.

3. Align engine air cleaner grommet with battery tray J-nut and install retaining bolt. Make sure that the engine air cleaner grommet is fully seated into the air cleaner body mounting tab with metal side of grommet up. Tighten retaining screw to 4.5-6.3 Nm (38-56 lb in).

4. Connect engine air outlet tube to air cleaner cover and push engine air outlet tube up to the rib on the cover. Tighten the crankcase ventilation hose tube clamp to 1.4-2.5 Nm (12-22 lb in).
