AA10 - Check Spout and PIP Circuit For Shorts to Ground

- Key "OFF".

- Breakout box installed.

- Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

For vehicles with remote mounted Ignition Control Module (ICM):
- Disconnect ICM and Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor.

For all others:
- Disconnect ICM.

- Measure resistance between test pin 36 (SPOUT) and test pins 16, 20, 40, 46 and 60 (short to GROUND) and 56 (short to PIP) at breakout box.

- Measure resistance between test pin 56 (PIP) and test pins 16, 20, 40, 46 and 60 (short to GROUND) at breakout box.

- Is each resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?

Yes -- Go to AA11. AA11 - Isolate Short(s) In PCM

No -- Service short circuit. Remove breakout box. Reconnect all components. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)

If vehicle does not start, go to AA11. AA11 - Isolate Short(s) In PCM
