Throttle Position Sensor: Description and Operation
PURPOSE The Throttle Position
(TP) sensor measures throttle plate shaft position.
OPERATION The TP sensor is a potentiometer mounted to the throttle body and engages on the throttle plate shaft. It provides a signal to the Powertrain Control Module
(PCM) that is directly proportional to the throttle plate position.
