Rear

DESCRIPTION
Except for the parking brake mechanism, the rear disc brake caliper assembly is similar to the front disc brake caliper. The added parking brake lever on the back of the rear disc brake caliper is cable-operated by the parking brake control which is located below the instrument panel. The caliper parking brake mechanism is self-adjusting.

COMPONENTS
^ Two disc brake calipers.
^ Two disc brake rotors.
^ Two disc brake anchor plates that attach the disc brake caliper to the suspension spindle.
^ Disc brake rotor splash shields.

Calipers
Hydraulically-activated caliper assemblies with integral mechanically (cable) operated parking brake mechanism.

Rotors
Vented full cast rear disc brake rotor are used.

Support Bracket
The rear disc support brackets transmit braking torque from inner and outer rear brake shoe and lining to rear wheel knuckle and are cast RH and LH.

Splash Shields
Are held in place by 3 bolts.

Pads/Shoes
The rear brake shoes and linings are held in place by caliper housing and rear disc support bracket. The inner and outer rear brake shoes and linings are interchangeable.
