Installation

1. Place steering column through dash panel aligning steering column tube boot with retaining studs.
2. Install ignition/shifter interlock cable retaining screws and cable end assembly. Tighten to 1.4-2.0 Nm (13-17 inch lbs.).
3. Align the steering column lower yoke to the lower steering column shaft. Install one bolt and tighten to 25-35 Nm (19-25 ft. lbs.).
4. Align steering column and install four nuts and tighten to 13-17 Nm (115-150 inch lbs.).
5. Install multi-function switch and secure with two retaining screws. Tighten to 2-3 Nm (18-26 inch lbs.).
6. Connect all electrical connectors.
7. Install instrument panel reinforcement brace. Secure with two bolts. Tighten to 34-52 Nm (25-38 ft. lbs.).
8. Install upper steering column shroud and lower steering column shroud with four screws.
9. Install instrument panel steering column cover.
10. Install ignition switch lock cylinder assembly.
11. Install tilt wheel handle and shank into steering column release lever.
12. Install air bag sliding contact with three screws. Tighten to 2-3 Nm (18-26 inch lbs.).
13 Install steering wheel onto steering column shaft assembly. Install a new bolt and tighten to 31-48 Nm (23-35 ft. lbs.).
14. Position driver side air bag module to steering wheel. Install two retaining screws. Tighten to 10-14 Nm (89-123 inch lbs.).
15. Connect battery ground cable.
16. Verify air bag warning indicator.
