Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Drain the fuel tank.







2. Disconnect the fuel tank pressure sensor electrical connector.

CAUTION: The fuel tank pressure sensor electrical connector must be disconnected before lowering the fuel tank. Failure to do so can cause damage to the fuel tank pressure sensor or the fuel tank.








3. Lower the fuel tank.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Support the fuel tank.
- Remove the fuel tank strap bolts.
- Partially lower the fuel tank.







4. Press down and rotate the fuel tank pressure sensor counter clockwise and remove it from the fuel tank.







INSTALLATION
1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.

CAUTION: Directly center the fuel tank pressure sensor above the grommet and apply downward pressure before turning it clockwise. Failure to do so can cause damage to the fuel tank pressure sensor, the grommet or the fuel tank.

2. Perform the Evaporative Emission Leak Test.
3. Run the Evaporative Emission Running Loss Monitor Repair Verification Drive Cycle.
