Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Engine/Transaxle Mount Neutralizing

NOTE: An abnormal vibration can be caused by a component, such as an engine or transaxle support insulator mount, which is acting in a rigid manner because of a distorted or twisted mounting position. As a result, the support insulator does not absorb vibrations as it should.

1. Loosen the engine insulator mounting bolts three turns.
2. Start the engine and shift into Drive.
3. While the tires are in contact with the ground, rock the vehicle back and forth.
4. Shift back into Neutral (N) and shut off the engine. Retighten the engine insulator mounting bolts.
