Line Pressure Test

This test verifies that the line pressure is within specifications.

1. CAUTION: The transmission tester MUST BE REMOVED and the vehicle harness installed when verifying these pressures.

CAUTION: Perform line pressure test prior to performing stall speed test. If line pressure is low at stall, do not perform Stall Speed Test or further transaxle damage will occur. DO NOT MAINTAIN WIDE OPEN THROTTLE in any gear range FOR MORE THAN FIVE SECONDS.

Connect 0-2070 kPa (0-300 psi) pressure gauge to the line pressure tap.

2. Start engine and check line pressures. Refer to the Line Pressure Chart to determine if line pressure is within specifications.
3. If line pressure is not within specifications, perform On-Board Diagnostics, Pinpoint Test E. Perform Air Pressure Test and service the main control or pump assembly as required.
4. If line pressure is not within specification after mechanical checks and there are no DTCs, the Electronic Pressure Control (EPC) solenoid may be mechanically malfunctioning.
