b When replacing pistons, measure the cylinder bore as described in Engine; Service and Repair; General Procedures. Install the indicated service piston.

TIGHTENING SPECIFICATIONS

LH Cylinder Head





Note: The "V" notch in the cylinder head gasket faces the front of the engine.





Install the bolts.
- Tighten the bolts in five stages in the sequence shown.
- Stage 1: Tighten to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
- Stage 2: Loosen the bolts one full turn.
- Stage 3: Tighten to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
- Stage 4: Rotate an additional 90 degrees.
- Stage 5: Rotate an additional 90 degrees.

RH Cylinder Head
