Normal Operation
The PSD latch has 2 positions that are monitored by the PSD module, a primary and a secondary. Just before the PSD detent switch reaches the secondary latch position (partially latched), a momentary ground signal is received by the PSD module on circuit 1227 (WH). Just before the PSD detent switch reaches the primary latch position (fully latched), another momentary ground signal is received by the PSD module on circuit 1227 (WH). If the PSD module does not receive these ground signals when the door closes, DTC B2589 sets.

Possible Causes
- circuit 1227 (WH) open, short to ground or short to battery
- circuit 1251 (YE/RD) open, short to ground or short to battery
- circuit 1252 (GY/RD) open, short to ground or short to battery
- PSD detent switch
