PINPOINT TEST H: INCORRECT FUEL GAUGE INDICATION

Test H1-H3:

Test H4-H7:

Test H8-H10:

Normal Operation
Fuel level status is sent to the SJB from the fuel level sender (part of the fuel pump module) through supply circuit 1356 (LG/VT) and return circuit 1357 (LB/YE). The SJB transmits the fuel level data to the instrument cluster over the standard corporate protocol (SCP) communication network, circuits 914 (TN/OG) and 915 (PK/LB). Normal operating range of the fuel level sender is from 15 ± 2 ohms at empty (E) to 160 ± 4 ohms at full (F). The SJB logs DTC B1201 if circuit 1356 (LG/VT) is shorted to power or ground. The SJB logs DTC B1202 if circuit 1356 (LG/VT) or circuit 1357 (LB/YE) are open.

Possible Causes
- circuit 1356 (LG/VT) open, short to ground or power
- circuit 1357 (LB/YE) open, short to ground or power
- fuel tank
- fuel level sender
- fuel pump module
- SJB
- instrument cluster
