Center Mounted Brake Lamp: Service and Repair

HIGH MOUNTED STOPLAMP - LED MODULE, FOUR DOOR AND WAGON

REMOVAL

Parcel-Shelf Mounted Stoplamp

CAUTION: Take care not to damage the rear parcel shelf or the LED module.







1. Disengage the LED module from the parcel shelf.
1 Insert two thin bladed 20 mm (0.8 inches) wide tools (approximately 60 mm (2.4 in) from the outside edges of the LED module) and push rearward to disengage the snaps.
2 Lift the front of the LED module from the parcel shelf.







2. Remove the LED module.
- Disconnect the connector and pull the LED module forward.

Spoiler Mounted







3. NOTE: RH shown, LH similar.

Open the decklid and remove the two rubber plugs.







4. Remove the pin-type retainers and the decklid trim panel.







5. Disconnect the high mounted stoplamp connector and remove the three nuts retaining the spoiler to the decklid.







6. CAUTION: Use care when unsnapping the ends of the spoiler from the decklid. The spoiler may slide across the decklid marring the exterior finish.

Remove the spoiler from the decklid.
- Push the grommet and electrical connector through the decklid.







7. Remove the screw access covers.







8. Remove the screws and the high mounted stoplamp.

9. Remove the lift gate trim panel.







10. Remove the rubber plug.







11. Remove the rear high mounted stoplamp nuts.







12. Remove the rear high mounted stoplamp.
1 Remove the bulb connectors.
2 Remove the lamp assembly.

INSTALLATION

All High Mounted Stoplamps

1. CAUTION: To prevent water from entering the luggage compartment, make sure the rubber grommet is fully seated.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
