Removal and Installation
1. Disconnect the battery.







2. Install the special tool.







3. Install the special tool.
4. Remove the front wheel and tire assemblies.
5. Raise and support the vehicle.
6. Remove the dual converter Y-pipe.
7. Remove the lower ball joints nuts and bolts.
- To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).

8. Remove the stabilizer link nuts.
- To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).

9. Remove the engine mount nuts.
- To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).

10. Remove the transmission mount nut.
- To install, tighten to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft).

11. Remove the steering gear nuts.
- To install, tighten to 175 Nm (129 lb-ft).







12. Position the power steering cooler line aside.
1 Remove the 2 bolts.
- To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).

2 Release the power steering cooler line locator.

13. Release the front and rear O2 sensor connector locators from the frame.

14. WARNING: Before removing the subframe bolts and washers, support the subframe with a suitable support.

Remove the subframe mount bolts, washers.
- To install, tighten to 175 Nm (129 lb-ft).

15. Lower the subframe approximately 101.6 mm (4 in) to disconnect the lower ball joint from the steering knuckle.

16. NOTE: Rotate the stabilizer bar as the subframe is lowered to clear the steering gear.

Remove the front subframe.

17. If a new subframe is being installed, transfer components to the new subframe.
18. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
