17 INCH CHROME - CLAD ALUMINUM WHEEL
OUTBOARD RIM FLANGE CORROSION

ISSUE
Some 2008-2012 Escape and 2008-2011 Mariner vehicles equipped with 17" chrome-clad aluminum wheels may exhibit corrosion on the outboard rim flange. This may be described as white/gray oxidation.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Is corrosion only present on the outboard rim flange? (Figure 1)
a. Yes - proceed to Step 2.
b. No - this procedure does not apply if corrosion is present anywhere else on the wheel, or in addition to outboard rim flange.
2. Install one (1) trim ring on all four (4) road wheels following the instructions included in the kit. Use only FUSOR(R) Metal Bonding Adhesive (Fast).
a. If future wheel replacement is required a new trim ring should be installed on the new service wheel. Do not attempt to transfer or reuse trim rings. Wheels with trim rings pre-installed are not available in service, and trim rings cannot be ordered individually.
NOTE
USE MID-PLANE TAPE-ON WHEEL WEIGHTS.
CLIP-ON WHEEL WEIGHTS MAY DAMAGE TRIM RING.
NOTE
FUSOR(R) METAL BONDING ADHESIVE (FAST)
AND FUSOR(R) 300 DISPENSING GUN CAN BE
OBTAINED THROUGH LOCAL SHERWIN
