Exterior lights - emergency operating mode (R50)


Function
An emergency operating mode circuit is used to supply the exterior lights if the central body electrical system fails. If the central body electrical system fails, the exterior lights switch into emergency operating mode. The exterior lights can still operate. However, the functionality is restricted.

Lights that function in emergency operating mode
A list of the exterior lights and functions that continue to operate with the ignition key in position ON no matter what the position of the main light switch appears below:
- Front limit lights
- Taillights
- Low beam headlamps
- left and right brake lights (when brake is operated)

Lights that do not function in emergency operating mode
A list of the exterior lights and functions that do not operate in emergency operating mode appears below:
- Turn indicator lamps
- Hazard warning lights
- High beam headlamps
- Fog lights
- Rear fog lights
- Central body electrical system communication to the body bus
