INFORMATION
To ensure proper tire inflation pressures, it is recommended to check/inflate tires when they are cold. The tires of a vehicle are often thought of as being cold prior to the vehicle being driven. However, ambient temperature can have an effect on tire pressure. For every 10°F drop in ambient temperature, the tire pressure can decrease by 1 psi. During the fall and winter months, there can be significant differences between the outside temperature and the temperature within the workshop. Inflating tires within a heated environment can result in a pressure difference of up to 3 psi when the vehicle is placed outside. Therefore, it is recommended to check/inflate tires prior to the vehicle being driven or placed in the workshop.
