Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove output shaft.
Wheel-side joint:
Remove clamp (1) securing the sleeve on constant-velocity joint.
Remove clamp (2) securing the sleeve on shaft.
Remove sleeve from joint.
Firmly hold shaft and drive inner joint (1) off shaft.
Remove sleeve from shaft.
Gearbox-side joint:
Remove clip (1) and inner sleeve.
Important!
The repair kit contains two different types of lubricating grease.
Assign the correct lubricating grease to the respective joint.
Slide sleeve onto joint and shaft and make sure that the seal beading of the sleeve fits in grooves (1).
Fit clips.
Wheel-side joint:
Slide new sleeve and seal onto shaft.
Pack joint with grease from the repair kit.
Mount joint on shaft. Make sure that the joint rests on the new ring on the shaft.
Press ring (1) into groove and tap joint onto shaft.
Slide sleeve onto joint and shaft and make sure that the seal beading of the sleeve fits in grooves (1).
Secure clips on sleeve as illustrated.
