Wind Noise From The Rubber Frame Of The Windscreen

Repair instruction for rubber frame of the windscreen
The sealing lip of the upper rubber frame of the windscreen vibrates against the roof. The vibration generates a whistling noise at high speeds.

Repair instruction
Apply butylene tape on the entire length of the upper rubber frame for the windscreen between the outer roof panel and sealing lip.

Butylene tape BMW part number 81 22 9407 639

NOTE: Make sure that the sealing lip is not shifted by the butylene and remains flush with the roof surface.
